Hello

Somebody had told me that is is possible to fit the galaxy, like mine, 1.9 TDI MKI, to automatic close (block) the doors when start movements (when some miles per hour).

Does somebody can help me ?

Do you know the codes to use ?

Thanks

I think this got asked just a few weeks ago, and nobody could come up with a way of doing it. Best thing is to lock the doors before you drive off; the crash sensors will automatically unlock them if you are unfortunate to be involved in an accident.

It is usually to stop people opening the door to the car to snatch a bag or rob you that is why you want to lock the doors. It is not that rare in some of the less pleasant urban areas in traffic jams.

yes - but if they only lock when the car is moving, and then unlock when the car stops - isn't that useless for the scenario you just described.

if you want the doors to be locked while in the car for security, you just need to lock all the doors, on the mk2, you just press a button, or push the door handle in, don't know about the mk1.

By default, the boot locks automatically when you move. Door locking may possibly be a programmable option on VAGCOM - I don't know. The Dealer would know, or email Ford technical support.

It is on my Skoda Fabia, it is programmed to lock all doors above 15kph.

In the event of a crash that sets off any airbags etc. the doors are always automatically unlocked.

I was not aware that the autolocking doors unlocked again when you slowed down.

I never quite worked out why the door locking button is there on the Mk2 when it is next to the door handle which does the same job.

I have discovered a subtle difference - if you get in and lock using the handle, the interior lights are immediately extinguished. If you lock using the separate button, the interior lights remain on - I found this out to my advantage in a dark multi-storey car park a few weeks ago. We live and learn !

MrT,

When autolocking has been enabled they don't unlock again when you've slowed down.

I have them enabled on my VW Bora which I did using VAG-COM. Unable to do it on the Galaxy though.

How did you enable this on your Bora ? I would like to do it on our Bora as "er indoors" always has her bag and mobile in full view so if the local "chavs and pikeys " wanted to snatch em they could easily do so.I have told her about only pressing the key fob once and leaving the rest locked but if she has the kids in they are all open.

I have Vag -com.

On the central locking module, press adaption (10) on channel 3 and set bit to 1=on to lock car at 15km/h. To unlock the car at removal of ignition key change channel 4 to 1=on.

Have looked into this on MK1 unfortunatley this cannot be done even with an aftermarket kit the drivers door handle is like a light switch when its on its on and when its off its off so if you put a different signal ie earth or 12 v it blows fuse

I will try to do it as soon as possible. Any coments ?

Thanks

wow you are still trying after 19 months - persistent or what, I couldn't make anything of the first link but It seems that it is possible on the alhambra at 14 km/h

will be interested if it works, ;)

beware the second mod - global locking from the remote - on the galaxy at least global closing does not involve the safety interlock on the windows i.e it will force them closed with a possible risk to fingers (esp childrens) if activated accidently e.g sitting on the fob ;)

CVouldn't work out what the 3rd mod was ;)
